Description
The Legendary Ranger Puukko Knife with an Uncoated Blade
-P Peltonen is a man who knows knives – and the harsh conditions where a reliable knife is essential. The original Ranger Puukko Knife was designed by Peltonen during his service in the Finnish Defence Forces. The M07 model remains an excellent military knife, but one that meets the needs of civilians just as well.
This puukko is a classic Finnish multi-purpose tool – your trusted companion in the wilderness and extreme environments. Many recognize it from military service for others, it’s a familiar tool used in professional duties. Hunters use the Ranger Puukko Knife to process game, and hikers carve feather sticks and hot dog skewers around the campfire.
This “naked” version relies solely on the natural properties of high carbon steel – no blade coating. As long as you keep the blade clean and occasionally apply a light layer of oil, rust will stay away. The 80CrV2 steel offers a balanced combination of hardness and toughness, and it’s easy to resharpen in the field.
The TPV (thermoplastic vulcanizate) handle has a rubber-like feel and is practically indestructible. It resists wear, impacts, chemicals, weather, and temperature fluctuations. It’s also highly recyclable. Particular attention has been paid to the shape and texture of the handle – it stays firmly in your grip, even with wet hands.
One of the standout features of the Ranger Puukko Knife is its innovative sheath. Inside, a rubber roller mechanism keeps the knife securely in place, yet allows you to draw it quickly with one hand when needed. The sheath features a Velcro strap compatible with MOLLE systems, allowing you to carry the knife even upside down, for example on a backpack shoulder strap.
The J-P Peltonen Ranger Puukko Knife M07 is at once a hunter’s knife, a wilderness knife, and a professional survival tool. Ideal for anyone who values high-quality gear in the outdoors.
