Description
Popular Peltonen M95 with an uncoated blade
J-P Peltonen is a man who knows knives, but also the conditions where a proper knife is needed. The Ranger puukko knife Peltonen originally designed while serving in the Finnish Defence Forces.
The Ranger puukko knife M95 is an excellent military knife, but one that also meets civilian needs. It is a very typical Finnish tool designed as a versatile helper in the wilderness and extreme conditions. Many remember it from the army, and it is a familiar tool for official duties. Hunters use the Ranger puukko knife for processing game, and campers find it useful for campfire tasks.
The thick blade of the knife is made from 80CrV2 carbon steel, commonly used and proven reliable in Finnish puukko knives. The steel offers a balanced combination of hardness and toughness. It stays sharp for a long time and is easy to sharpen when needed. The M95 version has a blade length of 15 centimeters.
The TPV handle (thermoplastic vulcanizate) feels quite rubbery. The material is practically indestructible. It resists wear and impacts, chemicals, as well as weather and temperature changes. Additionally, it has excellent recyclability. Special attention has been paid to the handle’s design and texture. It stays grippy even with wet hands and holds well in rough conditions.
This version of the Ranger puukko knife comes with a leather sheath.
Peltonen Knives’ Ranger puukko knife M95 is both a wilderness adventurer’s friend and a professional’s tool.
